As first time travelers to Sri Lanka, travelling with kids we were a little anxious and unsure of what to expect. Luckily when asking around my close friend Linda recommended the team at Soul Sri Lanka to us. She had travelled with them before and had a great experience.
During our initial correspondence with Dilan it became clear that they knew what they were doing. Dilan was great at listening to what we wanted out of our holiday and suggested an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to active our family. They also arranged for us to travel with the most interesting and knowledgeable guide ‘Prasa’. Prasa was fantastic and nothing was too much for him. He was always ready to accommodate our requests and show us everything Sri Lanka had to offer.
My children had a great time engaging in the interactive activities that were planned out. I would say that the definite highlights were visiting the most rural off the beaten track communities and learning about their life. The team at Soul arranged for us to visit conservation centers out of which the best was the Primate Observation among the ruined city which was like an Indianan Jones movie! I must day that Sri Lanka is teeming with wildlife and we had a chance to see a large herd of elephants and blue whales too! YAY!!
Even though the island is small there is so much we saw on our 2 week trip but there is more to see in the north of the island and some amazing beaches in the east coast which I really want to cover on my next trip!
